Miley's puppies were conceived on the Fourth of July weekend, born on September 6, 2008 (or, the day of Tropical Storm Hanna), and they will be ready to go at Halloween.
Our Mickey is the litter's sire. Mickey is a large, light-colored yellow lab with a strong retrieving instinct and a very happy-go-lucky personality. Mickey absolutely loves water and is a strong swimmer. He is almost always wearing a wide, slightly goofy grin.
Miley continues to amaze us, as she is a fantastic athlete. She inherited her mother's nose, and we can't stump her. She probably should have been a search and rescue dog. Miley's favorite toy is her tennis ball, and she has already introduced her pups to it and also a soccer ball, which have both mystified the pups.
Miley has a very easygoing personality. She is happy to learn new tricks and is calm inside the house. She is also very tolerant. Our puppy, Mazey, is quite rambunctious and likes to swing from Miley's face!

Miley's puppies are now three weeks old, and they are learning new things every day. They are now climbing aroudn in their pen and playing with each other. They've started to eat a weaning formula already, although they are still depending on Miley for most of their meals. Here are some photos, all taken on October 2, 2008.

Miley's pups are now four weeks old. Our weather has been warm, so they have been going for outdoor excursions in the afternoon. They love it outside, as there are so many things to explore.
