My family and I raise AKC-registered Labrador Retriever puppies with love and care in our rural Virginia location. Our Labradors live inside with us, but go outdoors each day to romp in our fields and woods. All of our breeding stock have their OFA hip clearances and are healthy. When planning a litter, we emphasize good temperament, athleticism and conformation.
Labrador Retrievers make great pets. They are friendly and personable and make a great addition to a family. My children have grown up with dogs, and it continually amazes me how tolerant a Lab can be.
Many of our litters come from parents with champion pedigrees, so our pups have the natural talent to excel in the field and in show rings, too. Please contact us for more information.
Labradors are big dogs, and need lots of fresh air and exercise. Our dogs are lucky, since they have a lots of friends and a big area in which to play. However, a Lab who is an "only" dog can greatly benefit by visiting a dog park or pet play group.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We can be reached here: (973) 634-4246 or at longmeadowlabs@gmail.com

January 23, 2010 - We lost our alpha dog today. Williams had been slowing down for a while, and today he went outside, crawled under his favorite bush and was gone.
Willy was 16. In his youth, he absolutely loved to run. Frisbees weren't enough for him; he preferred to chase Aerobies because they could be thrown really far. We lived on a farm in Indiana then, and he would run laps around its entire 100 acres. In more recent years, Willy ran less and less, but he could still swim very well. He took his last dip at the beach this fall. We will really miss Willy.
Upcoming Litters: Gracie was bred with Winston at the end of December, and we are expecting her pups to arrive at the end of February. Gracie is Willy's great-granddaughter.
